INVENTOR CLUB IN PERSON

WELCOME TO INVENTOR CLUB!

My greatest invention yet

Inventor Club is weekly design challenges where I help young people to unlock their natural skills and talents in problem solving, idea generation, lateral thinking and resourcefulness.

Weekly sessions are based around fun, dynamic and exciting topics which help to bring out the key themes above but importantly capture the imagination of the kids so that learning becomes easy.

Whilst what we do is essentially design engineering, the skills, abilities and attitudes are highly valuable in everyday life and any future career.

My aim is to help them observe the world around them, spot problems and opportunities, finding multiple possible solutions then use a variety of skills and abilities to make and evaluate prototypes leading towards highly functioning solutions.

Life doesn’t come with instructions, the future is uncertain. We need to equip kids to create the uncreated and sole the problems that are as yet undefined.

Sessions focus on:

  • STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics)
  • Brainstorming
  • Cardboard modelling
  • Design challenges
  • Engineering Principles
  • Communication
  • Embracing and learning from failure
  • Problem solving
  • Idea generation
  • Sketching
  • Basic electronics – motors, switches, lights etc
  • Teamwork
  • Presentation skills

“In my whole life, this is literally the very best thing I have ever created, invented or built!

Children are the future of our world and we need to make sure that the world is going to be in safe hands. Ensuring that our children are inspired to observe the world around them, spot opportunities and propose solutions is my key aim with Inventor Club”

Here’s the theme video for the term

This term is inspired by the greatest iterative inventor of all time – Nature! We’re exploring all things BIOMIMICRY based which is where engineers and scientists explore what nature does, then replicates it, sometimes combining different ideas and concepts together.

Launch video coming soon,  this is the one from last term

Booking

There are two ways to pay:

Firstly in full for the whole term. That’s 12 weeks at £15 per week and a kit of specialised parts costing £30 totalling £210.

Secondly, given the exceptional times we find ourselves in, I’m currently giving the option to split term payments into two 6 week blocks. A £50 non refundable deposit secures your child’s place. This deposit covers the kit of parts for the term as well as the first session fees. This leaves 2 payments of £83 remaining. The first 6 week’s fees will be due 1st September, the second on 1st October. I cannot hold spaces open without the fees being paid, I simply don’t have time to chase people. Any issues, please reach out to me.

For clarity, sessions are £15 each for 90 minutes with me.

Payment for this term is via bank transfer to our Monzo account, the previous ‘fancy system’ turned out to be a continuing nightmare to work with so we’ve gone old school again.
